Psychotronic Challenge: And on the 13th day there was only black and white- Nosferatu (1922)

Nosferatu (Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens ) is my choice for Scarecrow Videos Psychotronic Challenge under the category And on the 13th day there was only black and white. In a time where vampires did not live in Alaska or sparkle in the sunlight (sadness- yes I'm a Twillight fan) there was Count Orlok . How could I not write about a movie where the actor who played him, Max Schreck's last name literally means terror. Nosferatu is directed by F. W. Murnau and is a silent film. That still means no talking during the movie. Don't ruin the vibe.

This film is really similar to Bram Stocker's Dracula. Names have been changed but shameless plagiarizing occurred. All is forgiven because Max Schreck played the character so well that there is an urban legend that he was actually a vampire. I am kinda hoping that he actually was. Back to the movie, the estate of Bram Stocker didn't like the idea of the movie being so close to the book so it was ordered that all copies be destroyed. One copy survived, yeah for rebellious horror fans. Being a silent film Nosferatu won't appeal to everyone but for those who appreciate the creativity of cinematic techniques and great acting please watch it.

It is a classic that you can not ignore.
