Critters 2: The Main Course, Mick Garris' directorial debut is an American Sci-Fi, Horror Comedy & the sequel to the first Critters film. I chose this film for Scarecrow's Psychotronic Challenge (Franchise Day, 4 or more entries w/bonus if it includes fast food eating scene) based on a list of suggestions we came up with, our ghoul Kino suggested it. I was quite happy to revisit this fun, humorous & campy franchise.
This film picks up a few years after the original as Brad, played by Scott Grimes, returns home from school for Easter. Ironically, since it's right around Easter it seems like a good time for a nest of Critter eggs hatch and start to wreak havoc on rural Grover's Bend, Kansas. Charlie, Ug & shape-shifting Lee have been in space for the last 2 years & return to Earth when they hear that not all the Critters are dead. Shortly after the bounty hunters arrive you see the Critters attack a man dressed as an Easter bunny, ultimately killing him. Eventually the locals try to lure the Critters to a Burger Shop in an attempted to blow them up, but fail.
While Critters 2: The Main Course, may not be one of my favorites of the franchise it's still entertaining just like the first time I saw it many years ago.
